Is Justin Bieber Really A Diva?

Why is it that were surprised when famous people end up being divas? It surfaced recently that while in Australia Justin Bieber popped diva attitude on the set of a television show there.
According to sources on the show, he was pleasant and agreeable until a floor director was instructing Bieber about where he would be standing to begin his performance. It was then that Bieber turned and said, Don’t ever f****** touch me again.
Gossip sites and music blogs the world over went into hysteria mode, commenting about and taking exception to the concept of Bieber being a diva. While the sources on the television show say that in general he was a very pleasant boy, he did flip out at that one moment. Public relations people and agents are fond of painting these episodes as reactions to stress, but one could argue that in fact its no surprise that someone like Bieber would be a diva.
Imagine living in a world where all of your needs are taken care of. If you decide you need a Starbucks Venti chai, one is delivered before you even have a chance to express your desire to have one. If Bieber needs new jeans or hip-hop tennies, they are simply delivered. He doesn’t have to do any of the work to find them, nor does he have to worry, as some of us might, about how much he can afford. In addition, these people around you are constantly reminding you about how wonderful you are, how talented you are, and how all of your success is deserved.
It’s hard to imagine even the most reasoned and intelligent person would not become a diva under these circumstances.
Even though Bieber travels with his mother and is said to be raised in a fairly conservative and appropriate home, it’s hard to imagine that given the hysteria surrounding him, that he would not become at least a tiny bit full of himself.
Some of the most famous divas these days include people like Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez. It seems people enjoy reading the stories about their diva-like behavior, yet it was shocking to hear that Bieber might be a diva as well. Is it because Bieber is a boy? Or is it because he is young, and we expect the diva-like behavior occurs after someone’s been in business for several years and has experienced a fair amount of fame.
Although the story about his behavior was corroborated by many who were on the television set that day, there are many more fans who will dispel or disbelieve any stories about Bieber behaving in any way other than perfect. And that’s okay, because he is human and given his overall popularity and crazy fame at this point, it’s understandable that he would pop a little attitude now and then.
