@ultimatenate You are wrong. Only humans hold grudges and seek revenge. Animals do not seek revenge. Revenge, wanting to revenge a wrong, is what makes us human. It is part of humanity.

@OptimisticCynic715 Mad Max inspired Watchmen, not the other way around. It predates the comic by seven years.

Psychopathic, you know, personality disorder!

@OptimisticCynic715 Yeah, in the comic, Rorschach chains the guy to a radiator and sets the place on fire, giving him the option of sawing his hand off or burning. Pretty gnarly.

@ultimatenate Bingo. Mad Max is about a man trying to stay above the savagery of a chaotic world, and losing everything because of it. Mad Max 2 is about a man too embittered by his own loss to re-enter society. Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome is when that man finally regains his humanity and redeems himself through a selfless act.

The importance of the scene is that Max lost his humanity and became the same as the monsters he was fighting. Something he alluded to earlier in the movie when talking to his chief.

Johnny is a jew and this is why Mel is persona non gratia in Mulholland drive

Inspired a scene from The Watchmen anyway 8P. Especially the actual comic I think.
