Lawrence Krauss gives a talk on our current picture of the universe, how it will end, and how it could have come from nothing. Krauss is the author of many bestselling books on Physics and Cosmology, including “The Physics of Star Trek.” Books by Lawrence Krauss: www.amazon.com Download Quicktime version Small: c0116791.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com 720p HD: c0116791.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com Filmed & Edited by JOSH TIMONEN The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science …

This theory is not without controversy, primarily because it is seen as “superfluous.” That is, it goes beyond what can reasonably be predicted by the evidence. However, I (and others) would argue that it follows naturally from a mathematical perspective of reality–a reality that, at its core, appears to be nothing more than a pattern of information. Does a pattern contain time? Cause and effect? No. A pattern simply is. However, a pattern can be viewed from different perspectives.

Lol, though it is quite taxing, this debate i must say is fun!
Im glad to know u havent jumped on the bandwagon CT, it shows u have at least done most of your homework. I must appologize to everyone because I suck at debating more than one or so issues at a time. Might i ask:
1.why other religions have miracles or results just like christianity? Are they deluding themselves or is “god” granting their prayers as well?
2. When did the “soul” evolve/or get placed into homo sapians?/ancestors?

I look forward to your disproofs! Do you have any background in philosophical theology?
Thanks!

“Everything that is, ever was, and ever will be, all exists in the possibility space. Our experiences are points in that virtual space.”
I guess you probably wanted to say much more on this but were prevented by the word count space. However, I have no idea what you mean by “virtual space” and “possibility space”. What are these concepts?

.. enable us to understand things in a concrete way that would be impossible with mere intuition. Intuitions about the mathematics then map to reality, and we can begin to develop testable theories.

I think the reason cosmologists speak so often of the “flow” of time, and the “beginning” as being the “Big Bang” is merely because there is no intuitive alternative way to use language. Our minds are structured to understand a “cause-effect” reality. We lack the tools necessary to reach intuitive understanding of anything else. That is why we are forced to rely on mathematics–in particular: Set theory, Topology, Vector Spaces, and Functional spaces–like operator spaces. These notions. .
