See, the problem as I see it is quite clear; its not that contemporary music is inundated with too many club mixes (certainly no more than in decades past) I think the actual problem is: you dont really know anything about music.

The word mix appears in song titles by Aphex Twin, The Cars, The Cure, David Bowie, Kate Bush, New Order, Nick cave and the Bad Seeds, Nine Inch Nails, R.E.M., Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Talking Heads, Tori Amos and Xiu Xiu, which quite ironically is not only the only band on the list that formed in the last decade, but the song in question is actually not a remix but a mislabeled cover.
